Passing through southbank area in waterloo, these deckchairs on grass were quite refreshing to see on a hot day in a normally all-concrete space

Vectorw∗rks
Vectorw∗rks exhibition in Bartlett school of architecture by Nic Clear was something of a disappointment as I did not expect it to be this tiny (just 5 lightbox images and one video) but on a closer look, there is an infinite amount of detail lurking under what seems like an abstract impressionist digital image, especially in the one titled 'dread'. I do wish though that the drawings had a small note on the side explaining what they were about so that I could appreciate them more.

Three Classicists
Here are some photos of work done by Ben Pentreath, George Saumarez Smith and Francis Terry in the classical style. The attention to detail is absolute and is something to be admired especially the detailed sketches by hand. The gallery room seems to be reminiscint of a bedroom but that could be my imagination.

African city of mud
Amazing how they built these massive structures of worship using rickety ladders and by hanging over the edge held by nothing other than his friend's tight grip on his ankles.

Pacing Through Architecture
'Flemish architects Paul Robbrecht and Hilde Daem of Robbrecht en Daem Architecten have a poetic approach to buildings. Embracing the intimate and the modest, their projects are defined by natural materials and simplicity of colour. Sudden openings onto exhilarating views act as flowing, ephemeral presences which guide visitors through the spaces they create.' RIBA 10th annual lecture
I attended the 10th annual RIBA lecture with which Kevin McCloud speaks of the 'jam & knitting in the urban fabric' and relates the seemingly bizzare title to his collection of stories and experiences especially during his time in mumbai. Seeing him talk of the incredible one million people living together in a slum yet insist that the crime there is lower compared to other areas, everyone is still smiling even while enduring many hardships is almost surreal

Kingston Dance show
The Kingston dance performance was extremely enjoyable save for the music of one dance routine that made me want to claw my ears out. Each show performed seemed to outdo the other especially one of which was a wushu dance with a sword; you could almost believe that the girl was at one with sword she was carving the air with and not just flailing it around and the last dance which was a burlesque/las vagas style that really took my breath away.
